FAQ & How to Use
FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
This page collects common questions about HappySports AI, how the numbers are generated, and how to use the information on this site in a responsible way.
1. What is HappySports AI?
HappySports AI is a data-driven sports analytics project focused on turning bookmaker lines and game data into structured betting information. We provide AI-based lines, win probabilities, and matchup previews – not “locks” or guaranteed picks.
2. Which sports and leagues do you cover?
Coverage will change throughout the year depending on active seasons, but the core focus is:
- NBA – primary daily coverage with full cards and previews
- KBL (Korean Basketball League) – active during the domestic season
- MLB / KBO – baseball models and simulators during baseball season
Over time, more leagues and markets may be added as the models mature.
3. Are these betting tips or picks?
No. The site provides information, not instructions. We publish AI lines, probabilities, and comparisons to bookmaker odds so you can see where our model thinks value might exist. How you use that information is entirely your decision.
4. How are the probabilities calculated?
For each game, the simulator creates expected scores for both teams. From those scores we:
- Calculate an expected margin and total
- Apply league-specific volatility assumptions (how spread out results are)
- Convert those into win probabilities, cover probabilities, and Over/Under chances
We then compare these model probabilities with bookmaker implied probabilities to highlight potential edges.
5. Why do your numbers sometimes disagree with the market?
Bookmaker lines reflect a mix of sharp opinion, public money, and risk management. Our model uses a consistent rules-based framework that may view certain matchups differently. Disagreement does not mean the book is “wrong” – it simply shows where our projections diverge.
6. Do you guarantee profits or long-term winning?
No. There are no guarantees in sports betting. Variance, injuries, late news, and randomness all play a major role in outcomes. HappySports AI is a tool to help you think in probabilities, not a promise of profit.
7. How often is the data updated?
Matchup previews and AI lines are generally updated once per slate, using the latest available bookmaker numbers and game data at that time. If major injury or lineup news breaks late, there can be gaps between market moves and model updates.
8. How should I use this site in my own process?
Treat the numbers here as one input among many:
- Scan slates for large gaps between AI probabilities and book probabilities.
- Use AI lines as a second opinion against your own numbers.
- Track performance of certain edge types (e.g. big total differences) over time.
- Avoid making decisions based solely on one card or one game.
9. Do you change the model often?
The core philosophy is stable, but the implementation can evolve as more data comes in. When significant changes are made to the way projections are calculated, they will be documented in site updates or dev notes so users understand what has changed.
10. Is this a paid service?
At the moment, HappySports AI operates as a public analytics project. If any paid tiers, premium reports, or subscription features are added in the future, they will be clearly labeled and explained on a separate page.
